Architectural historian John Tschirch gave a lecture on the Frederick Law Olmstead parks in Fall River, MA, as part of a free lecture series by the Preservation Society to celebrate National Preservation Month.
The legendary Frederick Law Olmsted, designer of New York’s Central Park as well as green spaces across the nation, and his sons created a vision of the American park that is still with us today. A visionary, Olmsted worked with native plants and grand vistas in the creation of masterpieces of landscape design.
Award-winning architectural and landscape historian, John Tschirch, told the tale of Olmsted’s rise to fame and his legacy carried on by his sons, John and Frederick, in their extraordinary parks in Fall River.
