The Preservation Society of Fall River believes that the city’s historical resources can be used to revitalize neighborhoods and stimulate economic development.
Advocacy is a central part of the Preservation Society’s strategy to increase education and awareness of the benefits of preservation so that historic buildings have a chance to add a little more to their stories.
Some past advocacy efforts include:
- Nathaniel B. Borden School demolition
- Concerns at 100 Weaver Street
- Lobbying for historically sensitive streetscapes
The Preservation Society also raises awareness of endangered historic properties in the city.
